Did you know?

  • You are at higher risk of severe illness due to COVID-19 if you:
    • Are older in age
    • Have diabetes
    • Have asthma
    • Have existing heart, lung or kidney disease
  • The virus is mainly spread through sneezing and coughing
  • Coronavirus can survive on many surfaces for an undeterminable time
  • Spreading the virus through the mail on envelopes/packages is unlikely
  • Handwashing is more effective in protecting you from the virus than masks and gloves
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) like masks and gloves should be saved for health care facility personnel

SSMH Patient & Visitor Guidelines

  • All patients and visitors will be screened at both hospital entrances
  • Visitors with flu-like symptoms (fever, cough, runny nose, congestion) are prohibited
  • No pregnant or immune-compromised visitors permitted
  • No visitors under age 12
  • Visitors are limited to two (2) healthy persons in a patient room at any time
  • Gathering areas (pharmacy, labor and delivery, vision, dental clinic) are restricted to patients and escorts only
  • All visitors must wash hands or use hand sanitizer before, during and after visits
